Empresa Nacional de Energía Enex S.A. (Enex) is a fuel distributor and operator of convenience stores, with its parent company based in London, and operations in Chile, where it has the Shell license, in the United States, and Paraguay.
In Chile, it is one of the main distributors of fuel and lubricants, through a nationwide network of 454 service stations operating under the Shell license, and 221 upa!, up¡ta and upa! market convenience stores. Enex also serves industrial clients, mainly of the transport, mining and power generation sectors, and is a relevant player in the lubricants market, as Shell's exclusive distributor in Chile for this line of products.
In the United States, Enex owns and operates Road Ranger, the fourth largest network of travel centers. The company is present along the main interstate routes between Texas and the Midwest, with 53 travel centers.
In Paraguay, the company supplies a network of 68 service stations and 28 convenience stores, under the Enex and upa! brands, respectively.
Quiñenco first invested in Enex in 2011, when it acquired Shell’s assets in Chile.
