  • After four years on the board of directors and a decade related to the company, journalist Carolina García de la Huerta has resigned. The board has appointed the current dean of the Business School at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Juan Carlos Jobet, as her replacement.

Santiago, January 4, 2024.- Through material information filed with the Financial Market Commission of Chile (CMF), Quiñenco announces journalist Carolina García de la Huerta’s decision to resign from the board of directors, where she served for the past four years, completing a decade related to the company, having previously been the Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer. In all, including her previous role as an advisor, García de la Huerta spent nearly 25 years working for companies within the Group.

The board appointed the current dean of the Business School at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Juan Carlos Jobet, as her replacement.

Together with communicating the news, Quiñenco’s Chairman, Pablo Granifo, especially thanked “Carolina García de la Huerta’s enormous contribution to the company, both in the last four years as a director and when she previously led the Corporate Affairs Office. Her commitment and excellence have been an invaluable asset to the company”, he said.

Additionally, Pablo Granifo highlighted Juan Carlos Jobet’s professional trajectory capabilities: “His extensive experience in academia, as well as in the private and public sectors, will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of our company’s activities,” he stated.

Following the new appointment, Quiñenco’s board is composed of: Pablo Granifo L. (Chairman), Jean-Paul Luksic F. (Vice Chairman), Nicolás Luksic P., Andrónico Luksic L., Paola Luksic F., Hernán Büchi B., Juan Carlos Jobet E., and Matko Koljatic M. (independent).

About Juan Carlos Jobet

Juan Carlos Jobet (48) is the current dean of the UAI Business School and is part of the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow. With a broad background in the private sector, he has held various executive or directorships in different industries, including finance, real estate, forestry, waste management, and infrastructure. Additionally, in the public sector, he has served as Labor and Social Security Minister, Energy and Mining Minister, and Undersecretary of Housing and Urban Development, among others. Juan Carlos Jobet holds an MBA and MPA from Harvard University and a degree in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
